Over The Water Choir
Contraband

Upton, Buckley & Northop Community Choir
Cantorion Rhos
We are so looking forward to seeing you all at the 3 Tavs Festival this year, can’t wait
to hear you all sing. Thank you so much for agreeing to join us, it will be great fun as
always. Fingers crossed for the weather!
We’ll have a keyboard set up at each venue. With amplifiers/ Speakers at The Raven
& The Sun
For those choirs new to 3 Tavs, the following information may be useful.
In terms of repertoire, we usually perform around 3 or 4 songs at each pub, then
again at the Showcase performance at The Raven at the end of the day. It doesn’t
matter if you sing the same 3 or 4 songs at every venue, or sing different songs at
each, or mix and match. It’s entirely up to you, for instance we usually choose
around 5 or 6 songs, then perform a mixture of them through the day, but other
choirs choose 3 songs and repeat them at each venue, after all, it’s a new and
different audience each time.
12:30pm is the time of your 1 st performance. The majority of the choirs will be
meeting at the Raven Inn around 11.30 / 11.45 before setting off, although those
singing at the Rose & Crown at 12.30 may choose to go straight there.
As most of you already know, we end the day with a Showcase Performance. This is
where all the choirs / singers perform 3 or 4 of their songs at The Raven, so that all
the other choirs have an opportunity to hear the other choirs perform.
I’ll introduce all the choirs, say a little bit about each, where you’re based, what
nights you rehearse etc, and say that if anyone is interested in joining, then they can
pick up some info from you following your performance. (Feel free to bring any flyers
or literature)
After that you’re all welcome to stay and mingle or go home, whatever you wish.
Food is served in all the pubs on the route. Although, you can brink a packed lunch if
you’d prefer.
Please dress appropriately for walking, and bear in mind that this is essentially a
walking tour, with some singing and some beer / Prosecco swilling along the way, it
is approximately 6 miles in its entirety, and steep in parts, (from Llanarmon – Eryrys)
with long stops at each pub to eat, drink & sing. You are welcome to walk some of it
and drive some/all of it. There is no right or wrong way, the idea is to have fun !!
If you come by car, it might be a good idea to car share, as there’s limited space in
the village to park.
Bring your friends, your family, your kids, your dogs……. It’s a great family day out !!
